You can say what you want to say about election year politics but there is no other time that the “normal joe” can actually make a difference. Think about it. Are you the guy or gal sitting in the committee meeting that decides what candidate to offer up as a lamb? Does your voice get heard about the type of candidate that you wish to have? No of course not. We the people, the normal everyday, get up and go to work people, are left out of any of those decisions. So who’s deciding for us which candidates will be offered up. Special interest groups. Lawyer lobbies, insurance lobbies, tobacco lobbies, gun lobbies, old people lobbies, green people lobbies, the lobby lobbies………it’s enough to really make you want to pull someones hair out.
Ah, but it’s time for the election isn’t it? It’s time to put on the show. Time to get out and pander to the crowds, kiss a few babies, grease a few pockets. All for the almighty dollar and power. We expect our politicians to “do the right thing”, why? Aren’t they just like you and me? Are they divine in some way. Is it the second coming of John F. Kennedy, Bill Clinton, or even Ronald Wilson Reagan? No, they are people just like you and me. They got picked on in school, they went through awkward times in their adolescence, pimples and changing voices.

My point is simply this, we see what we want to see more times than we see what is actually there. It IS show time for the candidates. And you know perspective in this country and how fickle it is. If you’re not a good performer, entertainer, if you can’t quite read the script that someone puts in front of you- it’s over. You’re through. Is it right? No. Is it the best way to elect an official, not to mention THE official. No. So then why do we allow it to happen?
Let’s ponder that for a sec………………………………………..okay, done? What did you come up with? To steal some train of thought; a person is a bright, intelligent, logical, and reasonable thing. But, people (as a whole, a group, a unit, a mob) are very irrational, neurotic, stupid, and naive’. It only takes one spooked head of cattle to start a stampede. Baby calve looks up at the mama cow “Mama. Why are we running?” mama cow looks at the baby calve and says “Cause he is.” Be careful that you aren’t running to or away from you guy or girl because someone else is. Let’s actually sit back and make a prudent decision about the next President of the United States based solely on the good of the nation.
Is it time that we have a woman president? Maybe it is past time, but does that mean that this woman is the best for the job now. Is it time that we have an African America black guy for President? Maybe it is past time, but does that mean he gets the job because we should have done it sooner? Merit used to mean something in this country. Did you get a promotion? Why? Because you busted your ass for it. You worked hard, you paid your dues, you learned and you gained experience and you gained trust of those who promoted you. This is the same thing. It should not be a popularity contest.
Both Clinton and Obama are excellent public speakers. Both have been practicing for a very long time to get up and act. They are performing exactly how we thought they would, which is well. Who will the Democrat nominee be? Obama. Why? Because he’s black. Why should that matter? It shouldn’t. Obama himself made it an issue when he gave his “typical white person” speech. He became the candidate of race. He sold it to the public hook, line, and sinker and now all he has to do is reel them in.
Will Obama be the next President of the United States? No he won’t. Why? Is it because he’s black? It is going to start off that way yes. But once people get it into their heads that this is the Democrat guy, and they start to listen to what he is saying. Once they hear not only the words but the ideas, the plans, it won’t be “Let’s not elect a black man.” it will be “We better not elect this guy.”
Your homework assignment- ask a friend or a relative that is planning on, or supporting Obama to name one plan, or idea that he has for the country.

Speaking of Obama plans, I heard this one while he was stumping in Missouri and have not heard anyone publicly draw attention to what he said… While making one of his well formulated and delivered speeches, Obama outlined his plans for College Tuition Aid, he said that he would create a fund where any college student willing to put in community service time during their college career could get $4000 towards tuition. Now of course his plan didn’t mention how average joe taxpayer was going to have to foot the bill, but that’s not what struck me in the face about this course of action. Here’s a thought for Obama, instead of “handing out” money for community service (which if anyone has ever had to serve community service knows, there are plenty of ridiculously pointless ways to cheat the system) how about those college students in such need of assistance spend that “community service” time working at a JOB to earn the money!!! Seems like common sense to me and guess what, Joe Taxpayer does not have to see more money getting taken out of their checks ny that FICA guy.

Well If nothing else this is part of the homework assignment completed.
Yes, you want healthcare covergae for everybody- no problem a little tax hike for that.
You want a little help going to school- no problem a little tax hike for that.
You want to make sure the world likes us, well we have to give them money and Israel- no problem a little tax hike for that, and turn our backs on a friend. The latter- no problem “I already showed you I can even turn my back on my family when I called my grandma the ‘typical white person’.
How does this man plan to “save America from its self, thats easy! A little, a little bit more, a little bit more. It should be the new campaign motto for Barak. “Give me a little bit more taxes increase.”
The man knows how to pander.
