Ok here it is people. I am tired of the false over concern for the people with regard to the H1N1 Virus, also known as the swine flu, or more recently the hinny flu. I decided that I should drop the skinny, educate, and otherwise show the people some common sense about influenza.
There are literally hundreds of different strains of influenza floating around in our world today, hundreds. Every year the CDC recommends 128 of the most common strains be put into the next years seasonal flu shot that most of us get. That’s it 128 strains out of hundreds. Why 128? Couldn’t tell you but that’s what they do. These influenza strains are what is called a live virus. Meaning that they culture the strain and put a “watered down” version of it into the flu shot soup. Your body then creates antibodies to fight off the multiple virus’ and in theory you are vaccinated from those strains for the rest of your life. Funy thing about virus’ though is they mutate exponentially as they spread from one person to the next, so even though you may have passed it on to someone else a similar version can find its way back to you over time.
You should also know, if you do not already, that the mortality rate of influenza, not the swine version alone but all versions combined, is less than 1%. That percentage may not seem like a large amount but consider this, it represents about 36,000 people every year in America alone(mostly in the elderly and very young children, both groups have either developing immune systems or failing immune systems).
A majority of these deaths are directly related to symptoms that are left untreated, things such as dehydration (so you really have to pound the water, about 8 – 16ounce glasses a day), respiratory problems such as pneumonia and coronary infections however those are rare. The first step to recovery for any flu is in the fever. Adults who have children have at one point or another had to break a fever by alternating between Tylenol and ibuprofen. Be sure to not exceed 2 grams of Tylenol in any 24 hour period, as this can detrimentally be toxic to your liver.
It is a guarantee that the H1N1 virus was not in this past years batch, but, most certainly will be in this years. Why then is there such a rush by the federal government to make this into a panic pandemic? Well, to be honest I believe it is a way to control the newscycle. The Whitehouse has pretty much shot their load recently and really doesn’t have anything new to be reported on. This keeps the acting President Christ Obama in front of the cameras(focus on him) and keeps the people’s attention diverted from a moment of pause to reflect on the lunacy that has been ocuring in DC for the last 3 1/2 months. This is their way of not wasting a good “crisis”.
In the meantime, please do not buy into the hype about this particular flu strain. People have been typically seeing symptoms for about 5 days to a week. Remeber there are no cures for virus’ we can only treat the symptoms. Keep this in mind as well, given enough time in matters such as this and the common cold and similar ailments, your body’s natural defenses will heal itself. If however your immune system is not up to snuff becase of preexisting conditions or other factors and your flu symptoms last more than a week you should probably seek a doctors care.
Bottom line, Mexico is seeing a large mortality rate for a couple of different reasons and it shows why we are not. Hygeine practices being a big factor in the spread of the virus, but also less Mexicans are taking less flu shots every year than Americans. The Mexican treatment of the symptoms are nowhere even close tothe wide array of medications we are blessed to have in the US (by the way, that is NOT the doing of big daddy government but private practice).
Sit back, have a pulled pork sandwich and a large glass of OJ and the super great majority of you will never even know the swine was around(unless you’re a liberal mediaholic). There is a reason that the borders are not closed, those in the know really know this is something not even remotely serious to about 99.999999% of the population.

OBAMA NEVER WASTED A GOOD CRISIS IN HIS LIFE. HE IS THE MASTER.

Well I wouldn’t say he is the master, but his handlers are pretty good at being able to control the news cycles. I am confident that I will be proven right on this swine hinny flu thing. It is not the dreaded kill the world virus that they would have you believe. They will try to squeeze a few more days out of it then declare overwhelming victory based on their “perfect handling of the crisis”. They will still demand more cash to fight future events though, never waste a good crisis. Sickening.- DB
